Hampton Court Palace

Considered as one of the most important and magnificent palaces in Europe, Hampton Court Palace's long history which spans 500 years of royalty and breathtaking architecture has earned it the respect of generations of royals.

The palace traces itself back to 1236 when the area was owned by the Knights Hospitallers of the Saint John of Jerusalem. Hampton Court Palace was most important in the 16th century during the monarchy of Henry VIII , since then most of it has been changed and added to its secnic beauty.

Hampton Court Palace has successions of rooms (bedrooms and alike), which become rather tiring to view them all. If interiors of "stately homes" are in your liking, then you're better off looking at the interiors of homes that are slightly more modest these often have much fewer tourists.

Hampton Court Palace is worth a visit for those who are interested in sights, such as the vast kitchens, ancient vines, and the real tennis court (one of the major attractions here), for its architecture, notably its splendid elongated chimneys, and its wonderful gardens including the world famous maze.
